On 3rd St Santa Monica, we completed a custom gate and fence project that balances privacy with clean coastal style. A “custom gate and fence installation” is a made-to-measure entry and perimeter system designed for a specific opening, grade, and security needs.
The scope included a driveway gate and matching pedestrian gate with crisp, modern lines and a solid infill pattern. The main gate leaf was built with tight, consistent pickets/infill and reinforced internal framing, then hung square to new posts/columns for smooth operation and long-term stability. We installed heavy-duty hinges, a secure latch/lockset, and aligned fence panels to create a continuous sightline from gate to side fencing. A transom-style upper detail adds lightness while keeping the lower section fully private, ideal for alley gate applications and high-traffic properties.
Materials and fabrication were executed with welded fabrication standards; options like steel/wrought iron and a powder coat finish are available, but this install features a clean, painted surface designed for a low-maintenance exterior. The system is automation-ready for an automatic gate upgrade, with space planned for access control components such as keypad, intercom, or card reader, plus safety provisions for future photo-eyes and edge protection for commercial gate requirements.
